If there is no audio output from your Ring Floodlight Cam when viewing live or recorded clips, this page may have a solution to your problem.
Audio Feature Turned Off in the Ring app
Open the Ring app and select the Floodlight Camera. Navigate to Device settings and then Audio settings, and make sure the Record Audio and Streaming Audio are turned on. After enabling them, test the camera using Live View to confirm the sound works.
Weak Internet Connection or Signal Interference
To restore audio, check the camera’s internet strength in the Device Health section of the Ring app. If the signal is weak, move your router closer to the camera or install a Wi-Fi extender. Reducing interference from other electronics and reconnecting the camera to the network can also help stabilize audio transmission.
Outdated Firmware or Ring App Software
For software-related problems, update the Ring app to the latest version and check for firmware updates in Device Health. Once updates are complete, turn off power to the Floodlight Camera for about thirty seconds and then turn it back on to reset the system before testing the audio again.
Dirt or Debris Obstructing the Microphone
For any physical obstructions, first turn off the camera and locate the microphone opening. Gently remove dirt or debris using compressed air or a soft brush, and make sure the unit is dry and uncovered before restoring power and testing the sound.
Microphone Failure
If you've ruled out all other causes, the mic may have been damaged or failed and will need to be replaced.
