Device won't turn on
Your device will not power on in any way.
Device is Not Being Turned on Correctly
First, press and hold the power button for a couple seconds. If this does not turn the device on, move on to the next possible issue.
Device Has No Power
Your device may simply have completely drained it's battery. To check this, attempt to charge the battery with a charger that you know works correctly. Your battery should charge to full power after a few hours, and the device should be fully functional.
Charger is Obstructed
Your charging port may be obstructed. Check for obstructions in the port, and clean out any that you find. A toothpick works well for this, but be careful not to force it into the device.
Faulty Charger
If your device won't charge, you may have a faulty charger. Exchange your charger with a different charger for the same device. Attempt to charge the device again with the new charger. If the device still won't turn on after a few minutes of charging, the problem may instead lie with the battery. If that is the case, refer to the battery replacement guide for how to replace a faulty battery.
Faulty Charging Port
If the charger isn't broken either, the charging port may be faulty. Check the charging port for obstructions, and clear any obstructions you find. Obstructions in the port can prevent the charger from fully connecting with the device. If the device still will not charge after clearing obstructions from the port, there may be an issue with the charging port. This will require replacing the motherboard. To do that, follow the motherboard replacement guide.
Broken Display
If your device has power, but nothing else seems to be working, your device's display may be broken. If that is the case, refer to the display replacement guide for how to replace your display.
Faulty Power Button
Your power button may not work correctly. To see if this is the case, refer to the "Faulty Button" Troubleshooting section.
Faulty Motherboard
If none of the previous possibilities fixed the issue, your device's motherboard may be faulty. To replace the motherboard, refer to the motherboard replacement guide.
Overheated Device
Your device is too hot to function correctly or comfortably.
Device Needs to Rest
You may simply need to let the device rest for a while. In a cool, dry area, turn the device off and let it sit. If the device is still hot, move on o the next possibility.
Device needs a Soft Reset
Your device may need a soft reset. To do this, hold the power button for a few seconds until your device turns off. Then, turn the device back on.
Bad Battery
Your device's battery may be faulty. To replace the battery, refer to the battery replacement guide.
Device Performs Slowly
Your device performs slower than usual.
Too Many Running Applications
You may have too many applications running. Close out of any currently running applications that you do not immediately need to use.
Too Many Applications Installed
You may have too many applications installed. Uninstall any applications that you no longer use.
Operating System Needs Updating
Your device may need an update. Refer to the Operating System section under the "Short Battery Life" section for instructions on how to do this.
Faulty Motherboard

Short Battery Life
Your Battery is not lasting as long as it should after a full charge.
Device Needs a Soft Reset
You may need to reset your device. To do this, hold down on the power button for a few seconds. When your device fully shuts down, hold the power button until it turns back on.
Too Many Apps Open or Installed
Having too many apps open at once can kill the battery. Check to see if you have any other apps running in the background on your device. Turn off any running apps that you find, leaving only the one you are currently using. If there are apps that you no longer use at all, uninstall them.
Operating System Needs Updating
If you don't have a lot of app running and you still have battery problems, you may need to update your device's operating system. An old operating system can cause the battery to drain faster than it should. Make sure your device's operating system is updated to the latest available version. Navigate to the "Settings" application. Go to System Updates, then to "Device Software", then press "Check Now". If there is an available update, follow the given prompts to install it.
Defective Battery
If neither closing background apps nor updating your device fixed the battery problem, your battery may be defective. To change a defective battery, refer to the battery replacement guide.
Defective Camera
Your device's camera is out of focus or will not work at all.
Camera is Dirty or Obstructed
Make sure your camera is clean and unobstructed. Look at the camera lens and clean off any dirt, dust, or other obstructions that are present. If possible, use a soft-bristled brush or a cloth that is designated for camera-cleaning, as some other kinds of cloth may smear the lens or merely brush around the dust and dirt.
Operating System Needs Updating
You may simply need to update your device's operating system. Refer to the Operating System section under the "Short Battery Life" section for instructions on how to do this.
Camera is Faulty
If cleaning the camera did not solve the problem, the camera itself may be faulty. If this is the case, it needs to be replaced. Refer to the camera replacement guide for instructions in the camera replacement guide:
Faulty Audio
Your device's audio is messed up or not working.
Headphones not Plugged In Correctly
If your headphones are not plugged in properly, the audio will likely not work right. Unplug your headphones completely, and then plug them back in, making sure that they are plugged all the way in, as well as plugged into the device properly.
Audio Jack Obstruction
If your headphones are plugged in correctly, the audio jack may be obstructed. An obstructed audio jack can also cause sound problems. Take your headphones out, and make sure there are no obstructions in the jack. If there are obstructions, clear them out. A Q-tip works well for this. Be careful not to disturb any other parts of the device. Re-plug the headphones in fully and correctly.
Faulty Audio Jack
If both the headphones and the audio jack are correctly plugged in and connected, the audio jack may be faulty. If this is the case, you will need to replace the jack. For instructions on how to do this, refer to the audio jack replacement guide.
Faulty Speakers
Another possibility that could explain bad sound is that your device's speakers are faulty. If the speakers are faulty, you may need to replace them. This requires soldering. If you can't solder, you can replace the whole motherboard instead. Refer to the motherboard replacement guide for instructions on how to do this.
Power/Volume Button Stuck
One of your device's buttons will not press.
Case Obstructing Button
If you have your device in a case, the case may be obstructing the button when you attempt to press it. To test this, remove the device from its case, and try to push the problem buttons again. If it works, you have found your problem. You should probably begin using a different case at this point.
Button is Obstructed from the Inside
Your button may be obstructed from the inside. Refer to the button replacement guide for instructions on how to remove the button to check for obstructions. Using this guide, check under the button for any obstructions, carefully clean out any that you find, and replace the button.
Broken Button
If your device's button is unobstructed and it still doesn't work, the button may be broken. If your device's button is broken, it will need to be replaced. Refer to the button replacement guide for instructions on how to do this.
