The Samsung SCH-U340 is a slim, simple-to-use sporty phone which has a few key features. These features include a VGA camera, an internal antenna, an external display, and speakerphone.
Note: This troubleshooting guide covers general problems for Samsung phones.
Has your phone stopped working after you have dropped it?
If so, the first thing to do is open up the phone, (refer to the teardown), and see if all the wires are still connected to the LCD internal screen. If the wires are not connected, try to solder the wires together. If they are connected, we have ruled out the possibility of wire failure, and you need to replace your LCD screen.
Have you dropped your phone in the water, or exposed your phone to liquid?
If your phone has been in contact with a liquid, it is imperative you turn the phone off immediately, and remove the battery. Do not try to turn your phone on!!!
First thing you want to do is take the back cover off, and remove the battery. After this, you want to see if the water detection sticker has changed colors. This sticker will be on the top of the battery and underneath the battery on the actual phone.
After you determine that the phone does have water damage, take the battery cover off, as well as the battery out. After this place the phone is a bag or bowl of rice. Leave the phone there for roughly two days. Put the battery back on the phone and the phone should turn back on, and work properly.
Does the phone still not turn on?
If none of the previous scenarios have applied, and your phone still wont turn on, then we will assume you have battery failure. If this is so, you need to replace your battery.
