iHome iH5 screen won't turn on
No matter what you do, you can't get your iHome screen to turn on.
Device is not properly plugged in
Make sure the clock is properly plugged in to the wall and the cable is not loose. The iHome iH5 does not run on batteries.
The screen/ logic board is broken
The screen may not work because it is broken or a wire connected to the screen is broken. The logic board is also connected to the screen and may also be malfunctioning.
iHome iH5 DST switch does’t work
No matter what you do the time doesn’t change when you flip the DST switch
Sticky DST switch needs an electronic contact cleaner
Before taking the iHome apart try and see if the switch is just sticky and with a small amount of electronic contact cleaner into the area and try the switch to see if the switch works. Some examples of electronic contact cleaners are CRC QD Electrical Contact Cleaner Aerosol and IDEAL Cleaning Electrical Switch and Contact Cleaner.
Sticky DST switch needs to be cleaned and lubricated
If your Switch needs to be lubricated then it's time to take apart your iHome. You'll need to disassemble your iHome and use an electronic contact cleaner to clean the area. Then add an electronic safe lubricate to the sticky switch and reassemble your device. Some examples of an electronic safe lubricant are CRC 05105 Di-Electric Grease and OEM Lubricant 61.
The DST switch is broken
If your Switch is broken and doesn't change the time then you will to take your iHome IH5 apart and replace the switch.
iHome iH5 dial won't turn
No matter what you do, you can't get your iHome iH5 dials to turn.
The dial is stuck and needs a small amount of force to turn it
If your dial is stuck it might need a small amount of force to get it to turn again. Place two fingers on opposite sides of the dial and apply force to the dial. Begin to turn the dial. After the dial begins to move turn a couple times to make sure that the dial is fixed.
Sticky dial needs a lubricant
If your dial won't turn it might need to be lubricated. You have to disassemble your iHome. Once the device is disassembled use an electronic contact cleaner to clean the area and then use an electronic safe lubricant to lubricate the dial. Once everything is lubricated reassemble your iHome iH5. Some examples of an electronic safe lubricant are CRC 05105 Di-Electric Grease and OEM Lubricant 61. The dial is broken and needs to be replaced
If your dial is broken keeping from turning you're going to have to take your iHome iH5 apart and replace the dial.
Speakers won't play music
No matter what you do the iHome doesn't play music when a connected iPod is on play.
Bad wiring or bad speakers
When one or more speakers doesn't emit or play music when connected iPod is on play, check internal connection of wires for damage.
Speaker plays distorted sound
When the speaker emits static, or it's sound quality is distorted or fuzzy, check speakers for damage and test effectivness. The distortion may be coming from the sound quality from the source.
When the unit adapter becomes too hot
After playing on high volume the adapter for speaker becomes too hot, turn off or lower the volume.
IPod wont connect to the iH5 charging dock

Accessories is not accessible
Before taking the iHome apart, try disconnecting and reconnecting the IPod
Broken charging dock
If IPod refuses to charge or connect you will have to take iHome apart and replace the charging dock
