  • The new Xbox controller looks much like the last one, save for a new share button, an upgraded D-pad, and a USB-C charging port.

  • We're not dismantling this thing just yet, what with a whole console to tear apart—but our pals at Creative Electron provide a different kind of inside look.

  • With X-ray vision, you can see the four vibration motors (two in the handles, and two near the triggers), the metal joystick hardware, and all the beautiful cables and circuits doing the connecting.

  • Compare this sameness to Sony's new DualSense controller, which is different from its predecessor in almost every way.

  • That may seem disappointing for Xbox fans, but at least these controllers are cross-compatible with Microsoft's previous-gen consoles.

  • And despite its flashy new design, the DualSense now shares a number of similarities with Xbox controllers. Maybe Microsoft and Sony are finally converging on the perfect controller shape?

Der neue Xbox Controller sieht eigentlich wie der letzte aus, außer dem neuen Share-Button, einem verbesserten Steuerkreuz und einem USB-C Ladeanschluss.

Wir nehmen dieses Teil jetzt noch nicht auseinander, da wir eine ganze Konsole zu zerlegen haben, aber unsere Kumpels bei Creative Electron haben uns eine andere Art von Innenansicht geliefert.

Auf dem Röntgenbild sind die vier Vibrationsmotoren zu sehen (zwei in den Griffen und zwei bei den Triggern), die metallene Joystick-Hardware und all die wunderschönen Kabel und Schaltkreise, die alles verbinden.

Und dann vergleiche diese Gleichartigkeit mit dem neuen DualSense Controller von Sony, der sich in fast allem von seinem Vorgänger unterscheidet.

Für Xbox-Fans mag das vielleicht enttäuschend sein, aber wenigstens sind diese Controller mit den Konsolen der vorherigen Generationen kompatibel.

Und trotz seines auffällig neuen Designs ähnelt der DualSense den Xbox Controllern in ein paar Punkten. Vielleicht kommen Microsoft und Sony endlich auf die perfekte Controller-Form?
