Extreme Oxidation: Last Resort

  • The use of abrasives, such as sandpaper, wire brushes, or polishing bars, should only be turned to as an absolute last resort when completing the job is more important than preserving the tip. These methods quickly strip away the working area iron plating, drastically shortening tip lifespan.

  • If oxidation/buildup remains after using the tip tinner, gently sweep the oxidation or buildup off with a brass wire brush.

  • After the larger bits of oxidation and buildup are removed, complete another round of tip tinning (Steps 2-4).

Extreme Oxidation: letztes Mittel

Abrasive Mittel, so wie Sandpapier, Drahtbürsten oder Polierstreifen sollten nur als allerletztes Mittel eingesetzt werden, wenn es wichtiger ist, die Arbeit fertigzustellen als die Spitze zu schonen. Bei dieser Methode wird die lötaktive Beschichtung entfernt, dies verkürzt die Lebensdauer der Spitze drastisch.

Wenn nach der Anwendung einer Verzinnungspaste trotzdem noch Oxidation/Ablagerungen zurückbleiben, dann beseitige die Oxidation/Ablagerungen vorsichtig mit einer Messingdrahtbürste.

Wenn du größere Oxidationen/Ablagerungen entfernt hast, dann verzinne die Spitze nochmals. (Schritte 2 - 4).
