power up issue
no i didnt open it just pushed the wires into the magnetic connector on the outside, just noise and it was a little tiny pop.

In the interest of actually trying to be helpful:
First, try to replace the MagSafe board (for original/Late 2008 version or Mid 2009 version).
If that doesn't work, it looks like you're going to need a new logic board.

ah - what? you used an apple magsafe power supply and you put in the connector upside down?
OR you opened it and applied reverse polarity to the conector?

Magsafes don't have an up or down (unless Airs are different?) It's really hard to tell exactly what the OP did. Pushed wires into the Magsafe, separate from the computer, to see what would happen?
