Replaced Nintendo Switch fan goes to 100% instantly

I replaced the Nintendo Switch fan following this guide Nintendo Switch Fan Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide using a fan purchased through ifixit EU store.

However, upon powering on the Switch, the fan instantly goes to 100%
What could be the cause of this? And, how would I go about fixing this issue?

I have checked the connector from the fan to the main board at it is fully plugged

The Switch was purchased day 1 of release in 2017 and the fan was replaced due to the bearings failing causing it to get very noisy while in use and playing games.

you might want to contact ifixit, as this seems to be a issue with the fan itself

@nadie Have you tried plugging in the old fan to see if it behaves the same way? That would confirm a problem with the new fan, otherwise it would say you need to look somewhere else for the source of the problem.

I put in the old fan this morning and the fan does not spin when I turn on the Switch, unlike the replacement fan which goes to 100 % immediately. It will however, begin to spin once I launch a game like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This seems to collaborate that there is an issue with the replacement fan.
