Dualshock 4 V2.0 - L2 button works only wired
So the L2 button works in usb wired mode only. When used wirelessly the L2 button does not register. I use the official sony usb dongle to connect to my pc and then plug in a usb cable to have L2 working.
I know the V2.0 supports wireless and wired so there may be a problem with bluetooth or such.
It has the jdm-040 board.
Any ideas what should I look for ? I have a multimeter/microscope but not sure what to look out for.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Hi! Is this only applicable for the PC? Does it work when using it wireless with the PS4? Did it worked before? Since when started the issue?

Hi thank you for your message.
Unfortunately I do not have a ps4 so I had to test on a ps3. It is still the same case, in usb mode it works fine but on bluetooth it does not work.
Not sure when exactly this problem appeared cause I had a problem to sort out as I fried the original battery (wrong charger) so it could not recharge anymore. When I disassembled the controller there were battery fluids which I cleaned up with ipa and cotton. I set it aside for sometime till I replaced with a modded old phone battery which it works fine although with less mAh (700mAh).
I also had to replaced the usb ribbon cable cause it was damaged and also the conductive film cause the r1 conduct material was damaged and always gave me trouble with r1 button.
So after all these repairs I was expecting the controller to be like new again but now I have this problem with L2 button. As I said not sure when this problem has happened cause to be honest I just had it laying around a waiting for parts and using my other controller

Okay, then I recommend to check the whole motherboard and clean it just to be sure. Can be a trace where is still corrosion on! Please check and clean if needed! The L2 is a part of the ribbon circuit cable. So check those traces on the motherboard. Replace again for a new one if needed. It does sound like it's on the motherboard... So please check if any component failed or for corrosion. If you want to, you can share some pictures with us! Thanks!

Allright thanks! I will make sure it is clean, I might have missed something. I will try to take pictures as well. I do not understand why it works wired and not wireless. I mean the logic of it
