Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 1838 Troubleshooting

Touchscreen will show no response to input.

If the touch screen becomes unresponsive first directly plug in the tablet to an AC charger and charge for 12 hours.

You do this by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds. If the tablet does not turn off press the reset button located between the SD card slot and the SIM slot.

Tablet is laggy even when doing basic processes.

Device memory is full and is slowing all processes clear memory by moving files off device or deleting them.

Running multiple apps in the background will drain your devices processing power close out of them.

Old software may be inefficient update to the latest version.

Apps will not run or tablet will freeze.

Upon running an application first power off the device. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. If the tablet continues to be unresponsive to certain applications or freezes upon running applications you may want to delete/ uninstall the last application or content that was downloaded.

Tablet will not respond to input from the pen.

If the device becomes unresponsive to the stylus the first step is to make sure the stylus has charged batteries.

You can access the battery compartment to the pen by unscrewing the red cap on top of the pen. Continue by replacing the AAAA battery.

Device will not start or respond to any input.

If the device does not power on you may need to charge it. To charge it plug the AC Adapter into a wall outlet and also into the tablet. Let the tablet sit to charge for 8-12 hours. If this does not work you may have a damaged battery and should see the steps below.
