Ninja Air Fryer Troubleshooting

When I start my air fryer to preheat for 3 minutes it will not heat up at all… any suggestions. It’s not even a year old.

My Max XL has an issue. New machine, but when I pull the tray out to shake the food and put the tray back in….the unit does not turn off.

I have to push the pause button to stop it and when I put the tray back in I push the pause button again and it starts where we were . Can I push a reset button (is it on the bottom?) to have the tray automatically turn off when I check food?

My Ninja heats but the motor doesn't run. The fan doesn't work and food doesn't cook. I bought it in July and have only tried to use it a few times.

My air fryer will not go above 2 minutes on the “bake" setting.

My ninja digital air fryer blinks. This is the second one. It sits there and the power goes off and on, there's a switch clicking it just constantly blinks even the light flashes. I plugged my ninja foodie next to it the same plug and there's nothing wrong. I have tried it on every plug in the house and it does the same thing.

Was working and then started blowing cool air. Why?

The yoghurt function does not go to incubation mode instead it boils the milk all over again. I have now burned 3 batches. I’m so disappointed. The first batch I made turned out great. What am I doing wrong?

The temp on my bake function is 110F to 195F only. Why won't it go beyond 195F?? I bought it at Christmas and have never used the bake function because I couldn't get it to go any higher…

I had my ninja air frier for 16months,used it maybe twice a week if that ,then it stopped working,no power ,plug has been checked by an electrician.

Emailed ninja,but they said it was out of warranty,

Today when heating up sausage rolls on basket two, set at roast, I smelt burning. I pulled basket out and smoke came out of cavity. Switched all off, then resumed using basket one, which was ok. I'm now afraid to use it.

Airfryer smells burnt and doesn't turn on.

My Smart Grill display is stuck on “450 63:08” and won’t do anything including turn off. I have to unplug it. When I plug it back in, it displays the same thing.

My ninja is turned off but still plugged in. The fan on tray 2 has just started going off. I have turned the machine off at the wall but comes on every time I turn it on. This is still with the actual machine turned off.

This is such rubbish isn’t it, does it mention the woefully inadequate thermal fuses? no this silly rubbish doesn’t, does it mention checking for continuity for the basket switch? nah it’s far too rubbish for that, seriously what is the point of this rubbish? What?

Ours says the door is open when it isn't. Won't work at all (as obv thinks door is ajar). Any thoughts on what might be going on/any fixes? Ta. L

Update: I was able to "troubleshoot" it by leaving it unplugged for 2 days because I had left it unplugged once I believed it had quit working. I read that you're supposed to unplug it for about 30 minutes and then plug it back in and wait 5 minutes before powering it on; it should work. I plugged mine in and it powered on. I was able to choose a setting and set the time and temp per usual. I'm glad that's all the issue was because my Ninja Foodi dual basket air fryer isn't even 3 years old yet.

My Ninja Dual won't work on No 1, all it does is display the message "Shut" The basket goes in and out ok and makes the internal switches but still displays the same msg. Basket No 2 works fine. I bought the Ninja late 2021 and has been absolutely brilliant until this last week. Has anyone else had this problem and if so can it be fixed without having to send it back.

The common problem with a Ninja air fryer not powering on is the thermal fuse has blown. The thermal fuse is fixed behind the cowl which houses the element.

Just managed to use the Max XL once and now it kept saying CLS / CL5 regardless of what function/temp/timer chosen/set so we can't use it anymore. Tried all troubleshooting steps but nothing worked. Try to set air fry at a 390 temp for 20 mins. It stops and jumps to max crisp at 450!! Then other buttons freeze up.

My Ninja Foodi vents steam from the back vent when in mode 2. I removed and reinserted the seal but steam still comes out the back vent. In Pressure cooker mode it seals and works. Any ideas?

Firstly, if your Air fryer is out of guarantee Ninja will not be interested at all - the reason is they have not been designed to be repaired. it takes far too long to dismantle and reassemble for the repair to be cost-effective.

I have now repaired three air fryers belonging to friends and the fault on each one is the thermal fuse has blown, positioned above the cowl where the heating element is installed. These units have to be well-ventilated.

In other words, I am sorry to say, but if you are not electrically minded - bin it!

my air fryer constantly gives me the CL5 error code which apparently means the basket is not inserted correctly. It is most definitely inserted correctly and no matter how many times i turn it off, turn it on, remove the basket, reinsert nothing will fix it. Any advice?

These are a series of devices I’d like to see teardowns for, they are inaccessible for repair but should be simple as really just an old Hob top ring element and fan in lids and pressure cooker style base. Got one tripping circuit breaker and I’d bet element has an earth leak but it’s soldered on to short leads that prevent any sort of testing. Anyone seen teardown for OP350UK or the likes?

Ninja foodi tendercrisp tripped the fuse and the end of the cooking cycle. I have changed the fuse but the ninja is dead in the water.any ideas.

Not let me select the air fryer or anything at all ,I can select 1 or 2 upper and lower baskets but that’s it .When I turn the knob to select air fryer nothing happens ,I have turned it on and off a few times in case it’s a software issue but the problem remains .its only about 4 months old !

When the airffryer is turned off....the lights around the dial remain on, even though quite dim. We have to turn it off at the mains to stop the lights completely.

I’ve had my AF300UK air fryer about 18 months now with no problems until the last 2-3 months where a problem has arisen. I sometimes use the SYNC facility, but now when I set it up to cook, tray 1 will show the time I have set, and Tray 2 will show “HOLD” then after about 1 minute tray 2 will show nothing, and turn off. This has happened 5-6 times now so obviously there’s a problem.
