The battery is draining quickly

The battery life of the phone drains faster than it should.

There are programs with high battery usage

There may be apps or other programs on the device that require a high amount of battery power. To diagnose, look at the phone’s battery usage.

To look at the battery usage, follow these steps:

  1. ) Navigate to Settings
  2. ) Tap on Battery

There will be a list of applications and their battery usage since the last charge cycle. Common default programs like WiFi, Location (GPS), and Mobile Data can easily drain the battery if left running in the background. To make the most out of the battery life, disable these when not in use.

There also could be an app running in the background that is using a lot of power. It would be worth investigating to see if there is an app that is using a lot of power when not in use. It may be a good idea to delete this app.

The battery is defective

It is possible that the phone’s battery may be defective. Before buying a replacement, test the battery to see if it is faulty. If the battery is defective, it will be necessary to replace it. Please refer to the One Plus 5 Battery Replacement Guide.

The phone won’t charge when plugged into the charger

The phone shows no sign of charging when plugged into a charger.

The outlet is faulty

Make sure the power outlet is working. One simple way to test the power outlet is to plug in lamp or device with a light indicator showing that power, is in fact, being delivered.

The charger is faulty

It is possible that the charging cord or brick may be broken. Try using a charger that is known to work and see if the phone starts charging.

The battery is defective

It is possible that the phone’s battery may be defective. Before buying a replacement, test the battery to see if it is faulty. If the battery is defective, it will be necessary to replace it. Please refer to the One Plus 5 Battery Replacement Guide.

The charging port is defective

If there is electricity and the charger works, then it is possible that the charging port is broken. At this point, it will be necessary to replace the charging port. Refer to the OnePlus 5 Headphone/Jack Port Replacement Guide

Note that the charging port and the headphone jack port are connected. By replacing the charging port, you will be replacing the headphone port as well.

There is a “jelly effect” when scrolling

There is a wobbly visual effect when scrolling up and down on the screen.

The screen is defective

It is possible that the LCD Screen is defective. Please refer to the OnePlus 5 LCD Screen with Assembly Replacement Guide.

The rear camera won’t take pictures / Pictures don’t turn out well

The phone takes pictures that are blurry or won’t take pictures at all.

The camera lens may be dirty

It is possible that the camera lens is simply dirty. To clean the camera lens, use a microfiber cloth and gently rub the lens.

Do not use industrial cleaners or cleaning wipes designed for household chores as they can damage the lens.

There is a software malfunction

It is possible the phone may be experiencing a software malfunction. Try following these steps to clear your camera's data cache:

  1. ) Go to Settings
  2. ) Locate App Manager and select the camera app
  3. ) Go to App Info and select Clear Cache
  4. ) Reboot the phone

The camera may be broken

It is possible that the camera lens may be cracked or defective. To replace the camera, please refer to the OnePlus 5 Rear Camera Replacement Guide.

There is no audio when headphones are plugged in

There is no sound when the headphones are plugged in.

The headphones are broken

To see if the headphones are the problem, test the audio port on the phone with headphones that are known to be working. If the good headphones don't work, reboot the device and try again.

The headphone port may be defective

The headphone port may be broken or defective. To replace the headphone port, please refer to the OnePlus 5 Charging/Headphone Jack Port Replacement Guide.

Note that the charging port and the headphone jack port are connected. By replacing the headphone jack port, you will be replacing the charging port as well.

My ONEPLUS5 CEFFPHONE USED TO UPLOAD PHOTO-VIDEOS EASILY USING ANDROID APP. NOW IT IS GONE AND I CANNOT UPLOAD ANY PHOTOS OR VIDEOS. PLEASE HELP.
