Einleitung

If your PS4 is running hard and constantly overheating and has led you to replacing the fan, follow the steps below. Be aware that any replacement or teardown beyond the hard drive voids the Sony warranty.

Removing the motherboard separates the original thermal paste between the processor and the heat sink. Before you reassemble your device, reapply a new layer of thermal paste. Follow this guide to learn how.

  7. Insert the flat end of a spudger in between the fan cable and the motherboard. Twist the spudger to lift the connector straight up and disconnect it from the motherboard.

  8. Grab the edge of the motherboard on the front of the PS4. Lift the motherboard until the USB ports clear the PS4 case.

  9. Lift the motherboard out from the PS4. Apply a new layer of thermal paste to the processor before installing a motherboard using this guide. Failure to properly install new thermal paste will cause your PS4 to overheat.

    • Insert the I/O side of the Motherboard in first, then lower the other side in.

  10. Remove three, 5mm Phillips head #1 screws.

  11. The fan is now exposed, remove the two  9mm Phillips head #1 screws. If your PS4 has a third screw at the upper right, remove it as well.

    • Lift the fan up to remove it for replacement.

Great guide, but where to buy a fan for the ps4?!

My PS4 has been overheating so I decided to take it apart and clean it. I cleaned it well but it still over heats the fan will try to start up but cuts back off plz help
