Dead Pixels

If you wish to remove these pixels, use this guide on how to replace your screen.

Chromebook is Running Slowly
The device is running slower than it had previously, or slower than you believe it should.
Too Many Extensions
When a Chromebook has too many extensions, it may begin to slow down as it uses more RAM and CPU processing. Try uninstalling unnecessary extensions to speed the machine up by freeing up RAM and CPU processing.
Too Many Tabs
If there are too many tabs open, the CPU will need to divide its processing power which causes the device to run more slowly. Close down any tabs not needed and try to monitor the amount of tabs you have open.
Faulty SSD (Solid State Drive)
In rare cases, the SSD may cause the device to operate slowly. If you reset the Chromebook back to factory setting and the device continue to operate slowly, then you are encountering a SSD problem. If this is the case, please reference this guide to learn how to replace your SSD.

Chromebook Needs to be Powerwashed
In the rare event that the Chromebook is both connected to the WiFi and has been restarted, and the device still doesn't update, a "Powerwash" may be necessary. A Powerwash resets the Chromebook to its default settings, erasing any extra content on it. To do this, first back up your files to Google Drive. Once done, go to "Settings" and then click "Advanced Settings". Then, click on the button labeled "Powerwash". You will then be prompted to restart the computer. Click the "Restart" button and the device will then restart. It will have been reset to its factory settings.
