Before starting the steps of replacing the sensor you should first unplug the battery to prevent electrical shock. Be sure to power off the ignition, place the car in park, and engage the parking brake.

Open the driver's side door where the hood release is located.

Locate the battery and a positive and negative terminal.

The Positive terminal.

The Negative terminal.

Unscrew the positive terminal with a 10mm wrench by turning it counterclockwise.

Unscrew the negative terminal with a 10mm wrench by turning it counterclockwise.

Unplug the mass air flow sensor by pushing in the pull tabs and pulling upwards.

Remove the screws with a Phillips #1 screwdriver by turning them counterclockwise.

Screw back on the screws with a Phillips #1 screwdriver by turning them clockwise.

Run the scanner again and make sure no check engine light is on and no trouble codes appear.
