HI: Once again I will tell you this cable is available. In your post you have the URL of the manual and on page 5-51 it shows the ribbon cable and the zif socket. what happens is trying to remove the ribbon cable from here usually has the aluminum type conductors rip off the back of the flat surface. IT only takes a minor amount of ribbon to attach inside the zif socket to work. press down the conductors and cut the ribbon sparingly so you have enough of the rigid plastic back to shove in the socket. gently wiggle it back in. There are two types of these zif sockets and one has a black t on either side you push away to unwedge the ribbon but this one for the dvd player and other control on the board under the screen has one that sort of wedges down. It is a terrible thing but you can make sure the conductors are not touching as you trim back a bit and wiggle it under. I have done it several times. And I also have a spare exact ribbon cable on hand purchased when I did not know I could trim off on the bad end. I will see if I can send a picture with my old fingers at the cable. The ribbon cable runs under the touch pad under the keyboard and up to the lighted board.
+Here is one on ebay at this url by the way
