Here’s what I found on a ‘dead’ mouse: The one lead of the LED had an obvious Dry Joint which I could pick up by visual inspection. Resoldering it made the mouse work again. I suggest you ''carefully'' resolder ALL  the joint if the problem is not directly visible.
