I can get the back cover off in less than a minute with little to no damage after many tries. The trick is to use a credit card and work from the left to bottom of the phone. Take a pry tool and wedge it into the seam right below the SIM card slot. Then stick your card in the gap you created. Force your card down to the bottom of the phone. This will quickly and easily unhook the left and bottom. This should be enough to pull the back cover off with your hands.
