Mehr erfahrenHey Carlson, When you say black screen, does the laptop turn on, are the fans spinning, are there any LED indication lights on? If so, let's do some troubleshooting, connect your laptop to an external monitor, if the monitor displays it might be your screen that is faulty. Try removing and or replacing one memory module and see if that boots up. Also try cleaning it, dust may also cause a laptop not to switch on. Try turning it on while plugged in and the battery is out. Hope this helps Ewald

Mehr erfahrenHi Tiemelisa, Have you tried a different cable and connecting another laptop to the tv? Also let's try the following as well and set the HDMI output device as default. Right-click on sound volume icon in the lower right corner of Windows. A context menu will pop up. Select Playback devices from the context menu. In the Playback tab, select Digital Output Device or HDMI option. Click Set Default and click OK. Then the HDMI sound output will be set as default. If you do not see the Digital Output Device or HDMI option in the Playback tab, right click on the blank place, then click Show disconnected devices and Show disabled devices on the context menu. Then set it as default device. Let me know if this fixes the problem. Hope this helps. Ewald

It will run for a few minutes then a screen will pop up either flashing Green with PASSED or Red with FAILED. Let me know of the outcome. Ewald
Mehr erfahrenHi Jessica, How far was the fall to the ground? It sounds like the screen might have gotten damaged, I don't think a factory reset will fix this issue but I might be wrong as well, technology can be insane sometimes, for a hard reset you don't normally have to remove the sim card, but to be safe remove it, I have heard of stories where people lost all their contacts that was saved on the sim when they did a factory reset. Let me know if you came right Ewald
Mehr erfahrenHi Leen, It sounds like you have a faulty HDD or the software is corrupt, best to do is take it to a Xbox Repair Centre, doing it yourself will just beach the warranty and terms of service/agreement. Best of luck Ewald
Mehr erfahrenHi Mark, Yes a simple swap would suffice, seeing that the Xbox One S doesn't use any special hard drive, it is just a normal Western Digital 2.5" Laptop HDD with Xbox software on, all you need to do is just reformat the drive to make it NTFS and you are good to go. Hope this helps Ewald
