Hey, I just got this problem today, and although I did drop my camera, it was about 2 years ago and afterwards the autofocus stopped working, but that's another story. The err99 came up and stayed after taking the battery and card out for about an hour. I read to quickly and didnt see the lens part. I used my microfiber cloth to wipe the inside of the lens, stuck the cloth inside and twisted it around real good, wiped down the metal leads on the lenses, also the leads on the inside of the camera, reattached and now it works. I think it may have been the cleaning of the leads that did it. Just thought I'd pass this on. So now how about my autofocus problem?
