TC still going strong in 2023. Added a WD 8TB CMR drive WD80EAZZ. Needed to Erase Disk -> Zero Out Data on the drive in Airport Utility before backups worked (Quick Erase didn't help) which took 20 hours. But all good. The WD disk did not need the rubber bumpers trimming at all. Using a watchmakers loupe (10x) helped immensely in safely removing the two small connectors with a small pointed screwdriver between the back of the connector and circuit board.
