Hi my name is Campbell Hastings, I am currently in my senior year at the University of Rhode Island working towards a degree in health studies, with a focus on health promotion. I choose this as my major as I have always had an interest in working in the health field. After college I hope to continue my education and get certified as an ultrasound technician. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I also really enjoy cooking and swimming.

Both of my parents work in the engineering area, my father is a fire protection engineer who started his own company, and my mother is an elementary school engineering teacher. Both of them pride themselves in doing things themselves and have instilled that mindset in me and my siblings. We have done countless projects ourselves on our house, including redoing bathrooms, building a deck and outdoor shower, and so many others. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic my mom brought home the 3D printers she had in her classroom. As a family we worked to have the printers constantly going to print out the headband piece that would be attached to a plastic shield to create a mask. We donated these masks to local health care workers, during a time when masks were not so easily available.

I have been working hard in school and have achieved accomplishments, such as making the dean's list several times. In high school I played varsity field hockey and was the captain my senior year, I worked with the other girls and led them through drills and games. I also volunteered at various youth field hockey clinics in my hometown where I would work with younger kids and teach them the basics of the sport as well as referee their games.

I am working on iFixit as a part of a project for a technical writing class I am currently taking. From this class I hope to gain insights on how to write professionally in a technical way.

Some fun facts about me are, I have two black labs who I absolutely adore, I am fluent in French, and I enjoy spending summer on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
