My name is David Fong. I am a first-year college student at UC Davis, and currently exploring majors and career opportunities. I enjoy reading, writing, swimming and gaming, and have broken my fair share of electronics.

I haven't worked a lot with electronics, but I know that it can be quite easy and affordable to know how to make and fix them, rather than buy them. I have competed in competitive swimming since I was ten and made it to Junior Olympics. I'm also a competent public speaker and competed on Parliamentary Procedure and Debate for the Future Farmers of America for two years, my team winning second place at State Finals. I also served as a chapter officer for FFA.

I have repaired a couple of electronics over the years, my first when I was eleven. My extension cords were damaged, and instead of buy new ones I was able to repair them and make sure they were fully functional.

I hope to gain some foundational skills in repair by being a member of IFIXIT. I also value the preservation of resources and the reduction of pollution, which can both be possible through more efficient use of our electronic materials.

Overall, I'm happy to be here and I hope to be a useful member here. A fun fact about me is that I have raised sheep since I was seven.
