In regard to the repair, have a look here Kindle Fire HD 2013 Teardown Probably the best you'll get for a guide at the moment in regard to a screen, you'll need to hunt eBay, pretty much the only way to get kindle parts is from pre-used kindles. The problem is the age. you need to find someone who has a broken kindle but a working screen they can sell. because these are all still under warranty. if an internal part fails Amazon will replace it. You can set up an eBay search for the part and in advanced search you can set eBay to email you new results as they come in every day.

Yep it's definitely a failed LCD, we've had plenty like this. Just get another one (even from the same supplier) and it'll probably be fine. And on't worry about buying from eBay, you can get good parts and if you're just starting up or playing around with repair, it's probably the best place. Just make sure the seller has a good rep and pay for parts that are average price, not highest price and "certainly not" cheapest price. just go in the middle somewhere. But even the best suppliers can send you faulty parts, our current supplier of iPhone 5 screens is amazing, but we still received one which wouldn't power on last week, and another the week before. So just speak to the seller and tell them and they will allow you to return it for a refund. As an eBay seller ourselves, we can promise you one thing, eBay is 110% on your side as a buyer. So if the seller refuses a refund or replacement. raise it to eBay and you'll get your money back.

Omar, how are you getting on with this? If you're still having issues, can we just point out and be 100% clear on a couple of things When you swap tested the battery. Did your friends battery power your phone and Did your Battery charge ok and power up in his phone? (once you've used his to charge your battery a bit, can you put that charged battery bak in yours and power the phone? You may have already, but you need to have tested both configurations to be sure that both batteries and motherboards are ok. If they are both "definitely" working Do exactly what Magesty said, get power in it, restore it "Erase all Content & Data" in Settings > General > Reset. the update to latest iOS. if still no joy, before you think it's a logic board, try another dock connector. you don't have to fit it fully, just plug it in to the logic board and add a dock connector cable to see if it works. we've had plenty of these parts fail on even brand new.

Ok, we managed to get this one resolved ourselves, after a day of research and configuration. What looks like has happened is what we all probably expected. it's failed during a software update. The reason we we're getting the battery low symbol was because the battery was low. Due to the software issue, it was very unlikely the phone was being instructed to take charge properly. so it was sat in power limbo. We managed to get to recovery mode by. volume down + power. then as soon as the image disappears on screen hold volume up, all the way through the buzz and to the Nokia Logo. Thn you get an image of a cog and lightning bolt. Recovery Mode/Flash mode, whatever you want to call it. Now the hard part, getting a flash tool and a ROM. After searching numerous sources online we found that we need two tools. (1) Navifirm+ 1.7 (To Download ROM/Firmware) (2) Nokia_Care_Suite_5.0_2012.45.4.5 (To Flash) The problem here is that NaviFirm has been blocked so that when it starts up you don't get the list of phones...
