the screen blink but the machine on
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
Hi @cacing
Is the screen blinking or is it black?
If it is blinking:
Connect an external monitor (TV?) to the laptop's HDMI port and check if its display is stable and not blinking. Don't forget to press the switch display function key on the top row of the keyboard to change the display from the laptop screen to the external monitor screen.
If the external monitor display is not blinking then there's a problem with either the laptop's LCD panel, the LCD panel backlight power circuit on the motherboard or perhaps the video cable between the LCD panel and the motherboard.
If the external monitor display in blinking, then there's a problem on the motherboard and further testing using the schematics for the board would be required to find out what the problem is.
If it is black:
Connect an external monitor (TV?) to the laptop's HDMI port and check if its display is stable and not blinking. Don't forget to press the switch display function key on the top row of the keyboard to change the display from the laptop screen to the external monitor screen.
If the external monitor display is OK and not black:
Switch the display back to the laptop screen and try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the screen and check if you can see any images on the screen at all. They will be very faint, if they are there so trying this in a darkened room may help to see them.
If you can see images on the laptop screen then there's a backlight problem with the screen. Either a faulty LCD panel, a faulty backlight power supply on the motherboard or a faulty/loose video cable between the motherboard and the LCD panel.
If you can't see images on the screen, then there's a problem with the LCD panel or the video cable.
If there's no display on the external monitor:
Perhaps the laptop's not even starting due to a possibly corrupted BIOS setting(s) that are preventing normal operation and startup.
Try a power refresh by disconnecting the charger, opening the laptop, unplugging the main battery, disconnecting the backup battery (aka cmos or RTC battery) from the motherboard and then press and hold the Power button operated for 15-20 seconds.
Reconnect and reassemble everything, connect the charger and check.
Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.
Go to p.31 and p.39 (39 and 47 of 70 pdf) to view the procedure to unplug the battery and remove the coin cell battery.
If the battery is >4-5 years old, replace it. Search online for 5B10S34067 to find suppliers of the battery that suit you best.
