Make sure the dot is positioned as in image. If it is the original NAND it will not need programming.

You will at least need a multimeter, power squid and board view software.

You could also try connecting the device to your PC or Mac, back it up and perform a restore to rule out a software problem. If that doesn’t fix it you will need to replace the battery.
