Thanks iFixit! and Walter Galan and all else who contributed to this manual. Finished my first iPad 3rd Gen repair with no issues. Parts from iFixit, guide from Walter and the community, (with a few trips to YouTube for extra tips and tricks before I started) I completed the glass and digitizer repair in just over 2 hours with no issues at all. Thanks again for a great resource for those of us who refuse to give up on our gadgets!

At this step, since I was replacing the glass and the digitizer anyway, I simply cut the digitizer cable and set aside the largest piece of glass. Since the shattered section was over most of the digitizer cable, this made working with the remaining glass shards much easier.
