Anyone know what the weird sticky water looking marks are on the back of the thumbsticks on the circuit board, I have it all over my thumbsticks am worried about touching it. Its shown in the ifixit video and you can kind of see it in the photos here.

Hi so I managed to solder the wires to the switch fine. But I've not soldered in years when it come to the tiny pads on the main board one stuck but then come off. In this picture have I destroyed the pads? I think my problem was using too much heat? Now the question is there is no way of coming back from this is there?

If I get a microscope is there a chance to scratch some copper to solder too I think?

Hi I have the same issue my ribbon connection snapped somehow bashing the controller. Do you know of an replacement connection to save doing this crude fix. Does this allow the system button to still work? Also how did you know which alternative parts to solder out of curiosity do you have a schematic?
