Camera won’t turn on
The camera does not turn on when the power button is pressed.
Battery is inserted incorrectly
It is possible that the battery is not inserted correctly. Make sure the metal contacts on the battery line up with the metal springs on the inside of the battery slot.
Battery is out of power
Make sure the battery is charged. To do this, remove the battery and place it on the charger until it is completely charged.
Battery is faulty
If charging the battery does not work, it is possible that the battery is faulty. In this case, you may have to replace the battery.
Motherboard is faulty
If replacing the battery does not fix the issue, the motherboard may be faulty. In this case, you may have to replace the motherboard.
Screen is not working
When the camera is turned on, the screen does not turn on or does not work properly.
Firmware is out of date
If the screen is not turning on, first check for a firmware update on the FujiFilm website. More often than not, companies do not announce when new firmware updates are available, so it is always a good idea to check first.
Broken screen
If the screen on the camera has any damage or won’t turn on, the screen may need to be replaced. This can be done by following the screen replacement guide.
Shutter will not open/close
The camera shutter does not move when the shutter button is pressed.
Camera is powered off
If the camera shutter will not open, make sure the camera is powered on. If the camera will not power on, make sure the batteries are inserted correctly and charged.
Broken shutter spring
If the camera shutter will not open, it is possible that the spring that controls this function has broken. Unfortunately, the shutter spring cannot be purchased by itself, but a replacement lens and sensor assembly is available for purchase. The lens and sensor assembly can be replaced by following the lens replacement guide.
Images won’t upload to Windows 10
Images fail to upload to a Windows 10 computer over a USB cable.
Firmware is out of date
A firmware update may be required to get photos to upload to Windows 10 with a USB cable. To update the firmware, follow the instructions on the FujiFilm website.
Faulty USB Cable
Try uploading with a different USB cable. USB cables can degrade over time and lose their ability to transmit data.
Miscellaneous communication issues
If the above steps do not fix the issue, images can be uploaded from the camera to an SD card. Then an SD card reader can be used to transfer images to a windows 10 computer.
Flash won’t work
When the flash is turned on and the shutter button is pressed, the flash does not fire.
Flash is not raised
If the flash will not work, make sure the flash is raised. This can be done by pressing the button on the side of the flash. Include picture of what button to press to raise the flash.
Low battery
If the camera does not have enough battery power, the flash may not fire. This can be fixed by letting the batteries fully charge and trying again.
Broken flash bulb
If the flash still does not work with the batteries charged and the flash raised, the flash bulb may be faulty. This can be fixed by replacing the flash bulb.
