Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 will not charge

Your device is plugged in and will not charge.

Wrong charger

You may have the wrong charger. To ensure that you are using the correct charger, inspect the plug on both the charger and the device to see if they match. If you have confirmed you are using the correct charger, read on.

Battery/Charger connection

The battery may not be in the device correctly, take the battery out and put it back in by following the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Battery Replacement guide. The connection between the charger and the device might have also been bad, unplug your device and plug it back in.

Dead Battery

The battery may be completely dead and not able to hold a charge. You will need to replace your battery by following the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Battery Replacement guide.

Screen is Frozen/Won't Turn On

You have tried to turn on the device and nothing is happening.

Device is off

Check that device is on. Hold the power button for at least 5 seconds and wait for the device to respond. If device remains unresponsive, read on.

Dead Battery

The battery may be completely dead and not able to hold a charge. You will need to replace your battery by following the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Battery Replacement guide.

Water Damage

Check the white indicator strip on the side of the battery to ensure that it is white. To remove the battery, follow the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Battery Replacement guide. If it is not white, the device has been affected by water. See section on water damage below.

Your device has been affected by water.

Check the white indicator strip on the side of the battery to ensure that it is white. To remove the battery, follow the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 Battery Replacement guide. If it is white, the device has not been affected by water. If the indicator strip is red/pink, it has been affected by water, meaning that water has also affected the rest of the device. If the battery is water damaged, try replacing the battery before replacing the device.

If the device is not working, a technique used by many is to put your device in a bag of uncooked rice for a few hours. The rice will absorb any moisture from the device and hopefully restore it to working order. If this is unsuccessful, the device should be brought to your local electronics store for evaluation.

Forgotten Passcode

You have forgotten your passcode

Reset Passcode via Email

When the device was first purchased, it prompted the user to enter an email to register the device. If this was done, entering that email and password will allow you to reset the passcode of the device.
