After completing the battery replacement, everything worked except the TOUCH function on the display. The solution was to power off the watch [hold button in for 15 seconds] wait 15 seconds and then power the watch on [hold button in for 15 seconds] again. Now it is 100% functioning again with the new battery.

T7000 adhesive has a short open working time before it skins over. Move quickly to close up the assembly after applying T7000 to the bezel "U" channel!

When heating the watch to remove the display, note it is a narrow "U" shaped channel under the metal exterior bezel that holds the glue you are trying to soften.

Before beginning, use the Garmin Express desktop {Utilities] function to [BACKUP] your device settings.

Old phone gets new battery and it is working fine. Everything went as described. Tip: be sure to read the extra comments for each step to make things even easier. The hardest part for me was breaking the adhesive grip tape that seals and secures the perimeter between the case and display. Suggest you take your time, working slowly as eventually they do separate with damaging anything.
