CAMERA DOESN'T TURN ON
When the power button is pressed the camera doesn't power up
Battery is dead
The Fujifilm FinePix F505EXR is equipped with a NP-50 lithium ion battery which has a run time of between 150 and 220 pictures before it needs to be recharged. Take the battery out, attach it to the charger, once charged put it back in and try turning the camera on. This can be done by following this guide.
Battery Overheated
The NP-50 lithium ion battery is not supposed to be exposed to temperatures hotter than 140 degrees Fahrenheit. If this has happened then the battery may have overheated. Another cause could be that the camera was left powered on for an extended period of time and caused the battery to overheat. To check this, remove the battery and look for any signs of melting on the battery itself. If there are any noticeable melting marks a replacement battery is necessary. Follow this guide.
CAN'T NAVIGATE THROUGH OPTIONS OR PICTURES
The menu and other options are not able to be reached
Foreign objects are lodged behind the selector button
The Fujifilm FinePix F505EXR is programmed to let you navigate the menu and various other options to make the camera just the way you wantit. If these cannot be reached then there may be something such as sand behind the selector button. You can remove the button and clear away any objects in the way, in order to do this follow this guide.
Selector button is disconnected from the connection
The selector button may have been moved from a sudden motion such as a fall. The impact to the camera could have causes the button to move just far enough away from the connection that it does not allow it to function. If this is the case the steps to resolve this are simple. LCD MONITOR HAS YELLOW TINT
When looking at the LCD monitor the screen displays a yellow tint
LCD monitor connector is loose
The Fujifilm FinePix F505EXR LCD monitor connector may be loose and may have to be reconnected. The connector may have been pulled out of its port or have been attached wrong. To solve this problem, follow the repair guide.
LCD monitor connector is fried
The Fujifilm FinePix F505EXR LCD monitor connector may be fried in certain areas creating the yellow tint. To solve this problem, the LCD monitor may need to be replaced. Follow the repair guide for instructions.
SELECTOR BUTTON DOES NOT RESPOND WHEN PRESSED
When pressed the selector button does not respond
Selector button circuit board is disconnected
The connection from the selector board circuit board to the motherboard of the camera may have come lose from vigorous shaking of the camera. This could also be the result of being dropped repeatedly causing the connection to slowly loosen until it completely disconnected from the motherboard. The selector button circuit board is fried
The Fujifilm FinePix F505EXR can withstand hot temperatures, but only for a period of time. If the camera is left in a hot place for an extensive amount of time then damage can be done, including causing the selector button to overheat and fry. This can be solved by following the repair guide.
MODE DIAL DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY
The mode dial will not operate correctly when used
It is difficult to spin the dial
The Fujifilm FinePix F505EXR has a mode dial located at the top right location of the camera. This dial should be able to spin freely with ease. If the dial is damaged from a fall or a foreign object such as sand has lodged itself inside the wheel then the dial will need to be replaced or repaired. Turning the mode dial does not change settings
The mode dial located at the top right location of the camera is what changes the modes of capture. If the wheel is able to spin freely but no settings can be changed with it, then a foreign object, or liquid may be preventing the wheel from relaying information to the mode dial circuit board. On-off button is hot-warm whether camera is on or, discharging battery. Any fix? Also lens will not move in camera mode.

Why are my photos coming out black?

I posted this question before about the F770EXR. At least, one of the “leaves” making up the lens cap is stuck. No one is interested in fixing this. The camera will take photos but in the wider angles, the lens is blocked. Can anyone suggest a fix?
