I am currently attending Sam Houston State University as a graduate student. I am obtaining my English Certificate so that I can teach dual credit courses at the high school I teach at, perhaps moving on to a few community college courses later. Previously, I earned my Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies, and my Master of Education as a Reading Instructional Specialist at the University of Texas at El Paso, which is in my home town. I have taught for almost 12 years now, and currently teach freshman English, both regular and PAP. Needless to say, I edit a LOT of papers! In my spare time, I like to read, cook, garden, do home improvement projects, and travel with my family, usually in our travel trailer. I am a mother of two daughters, grandmother of one, soon to be two (grandbaby number two to arrive in early July), a wife to my best friend of 17 years, and a companion to our little kitty cat, Arya. Something unique about me is I love to roller skate and was even in a roller derby league for a short time.
