Turn computer off, remove battery, remove charger cable, press and hold power button for 15 FULL seconds, replace battery, plug in charger, press power button.

Connect the laptop to an external monitor, and reinstall the appropriate driver for the OS that your device is running.

Laptop will not connect to the Internet while using a Wifi connection.

Disconnect wifi chip, then reconnect.

Refer to this if issues occured after upgrading to Windows 10.

Interior backlights behind keyboard are not lighting up.

Check if the ATK package is installed - you can check the ATK package under Programs and Features in Win8 (which is really add/remove programs if you're used to Win7) and can get there through Control Panel/Programs. If you want to try a shortcut in Win8, right-click (not left) in the bottom left-hand corner to open a menu and choose 'Programs and Features' to check for the ATK Package and version.

1. If you shutdown the laptop regularly, try restarting the device instead of shutting down, and you may see a difference, as there seems to be some link between shutting down and the drivers acting strange.

2. If the lights do flash when you power it on, then the hardware is all okay, but the drivers are faulty. In that case, you need to reinstall the keyboard drivers here from the manufacturer’s website.

The touchpad is not responding to finger swipes or clicks.

Press Fn+F9 to enable touchpad.

Update driver: Connect an external mouse to the laptop, press Win + X, go to device manager, click on “Human Interface” drop-down menu, right click on “Microsoft Input Configuration Device”, choose properties, go to the driver tab, click update driver.

The screen is displaying horizontal lines.

Alternatively, check cpu and graphics card fans for dust (graphics card could be disabling itself due to excess heat). Remove the dust using compressed air or physically dust off with cotton swabs.

F1-12 keys do not properly perform operations.

Install ATKACPI driver & ATK hotkey tool from here.

Input Device name and click the “Driver and Tools” tab.

Select the proper operating system.

Install the driver for broken hot key.
