Background and Identification
The Dell Inspiron 15 3565 is a low-cost laptop released in 2017 or 2018 (this review indicates that the product was available at least in 2017). As the “15” in the model name implies, it has a 15-inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. Internally, it is fully decked out with AMD chips: both the processor and graphics card are built by AMD. Externally, the chassis of the laptop is made from matte black plastic with a slight dimpled texture. The back of the display is imprinted with a circular Dell logo.
If you’re looking to upgrade or work on a repair for this laptop, the Inspiron 15 3565 service manual has instructions on how to remove each component in the device. Removing the bottom cover requires removing the keyboard first with a spudger and pulling the optical drive out of the side of the laptop (its held in with one screw). Once these parts are taken care, you can use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the back cover and access the two SO-DIMM memory slots or the 2.5-inch hard drive bay. Both components—which are common upgrade/repair points—can be swapped out without any problems. The battery is located at the back of the laptop and can be removed by releasing a single latch.
You can identify this laptop by looking on the bottom side for a sticker containing the model name “Inspiron 15 3565.” The sticker should also contain the laptop’s service code or service tag. These numbers are used by Dell like a serial number, and you can enter either on the Dell support website to find out exact information about your device.
