Identification and Background
The Dell Inspiron 17-5749 was released April 2015 as the successor to the 5748 model. The laptop’s only upgrade from its previous model was an update from a 4th Generation to a 5th Generation Intel Core processor, providing faster processing speed and battery efficiency. The laptop was boasted as a “desktop replacement”, a multimedia machine capable of providing a full cinematic experience and entertainment hub for gaming, music, and more.
The Dell Inspiron 17-5749 is identifiable by looking at the model number on the back of the device reading “Reg Model: P26E”. The top of the laptop has a chrome finish with the Dell logo in the center. The bottom of the laptop is black with a thick chrome outline. In the open-position, one can see the black matte interior and the 17.3-inch HD display along with a 0.92 megapixel camera in the center above the display. The laptop features a US-International Keyboard equipped with a keypad.
