Thanks for once again extending the life of my poor old iPhone 6s (backup phone). I have replace the screen, home button (screwed up and purchased a white button for a black phone, so it's a bit funky), and now the battery. This fix was simple compared to the home button. It seems the process gets more difficult with the newer phones; I was hoping to make my iPhone XS the backup phone but the battery replacement did not go well and was far more complicated.
Friendly Suggestion: would have purchased the full fix kit had I know I would need to replace the adhesive gasket during reassembly. Having purchased many kits before, I have all the tools. When looking at the photo, it didn't seem to include anything other than the battery, so I just ordered the battery. Missed the tiny adhesive gasket! Might want to highlight items like that so when people order, they don't make a similar mistake.
After replacing battery, I am getting ghost typing and activity on the touchscreen without touching it. And the phone is hot. What did I do wrong? Replaced a battery in my iPhone 6s prior to trying battery replacement on the XS, thought I would have equal success, not! Also noted the warning about the genuineness of the new battery, don't mind that but I also lost the health of the battery status; was that supposed to happen?
Had the same problem. One of the little tab / springs was damaged on the bracket below the main speaker. Didn't think it would be that much of an issue until I started using phone. On occasion, pressure on the lower part of screen creates crazy phantom touchscreen activity. Cannot locate a replacement anywhere on the site.
Although I successfully completed the repair, I could have used more detailed instructions (with photos) of the replacement process. Once the cracked dual rear camera lens cover was removed, I was left to sort out the rest myself. Could have used some instruction on how to PROPERLY install the new items. Following suggestions on the site, I had purchased the new Dual Rear Camera Lens Cover along with a new Rear Camera Alignment Bracket and Rear Camera Foam Pads. It would have been helpful to know how to reassemble the new items. Kind of a large gap in guidance here!
