On December 13, 2021, iFixit and Microsoft announced a program where iFixit Pro independent repairers and Microsoft Authorized Service Providers can purchase tools for repairing select Microsoft Surface devices directly from iFixit.com.
Background
Microsoft’s Surface 7 Laptop was announced on May 20th, 2024, alongside the Surface Pro 11. It features Snapdragon X Plus or Elite processors and offers an optional AI companion, Copilot. The Surface 7 Laptop comes in two sizes, a slightly larger 13.8 inch model (compared to the 13.5 inch display for its predecessor, the Surface Laptop 5) and the 15 inch model. The Surface Laptop 7 retail price starts at $999 and can be ordered in the following colors: Sapphire, Dune, Black, and Platinum.
Identification
The Surface Laptop devices all look very similar. You can identify your Surface Laptop model by the 4-digit number printed on the top edge of the back cover:
